Reese Solo Cargo Carrier Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video

Hey everyone, Charles, here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the 32x48 Reese Solo Cargo Carrier on our 2019 GMC Acadia. This is gonna be great for freeing up a lot of space in your vehicle for more gear, extra passengers, or pets. A couple reasons why I would prefer a hitch cargo carrier over a roof-mounted one is because it's gonna be a lot easier to load and unload those heavier, bulkier items. And it'll free up space for kayaks and/or fishing poles. From the bumper to the first point of shank rise right here, it's gonna be about five inches before we hit that rise. And the clearance before we open our hatch and make contact is gonna be about 13 inches from when we open it. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 GMC Acadia- Video

Today, on this 2016 GMC Acadia, we're going to be test fitting the 20 x 48 Curt Cargo Carrier, part number C18110. This has a 300 pound carrying capacity, it has a mesh floor at the bottom here which makes it easy to clean. All around the cargo carrier, we have these points here and that's going to be used as tie-down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. Measuring from the bumper to this outer rail here, it's going to be about 26 1/4 inches. Our ground clearance to the end of this bolt here, that's going to be about 19 inches. Our closest point, this inner rail, is going to be about 6 1/2 inches. The exhaust is going to be on the passenger side, but it's going to be facing down and away from the cargo carrier. more

Today on our 2015 GMC Acadia we are test fitting the Yakima DryDock design for 2 inch hitches. The part number for that is Y02449. This DryDock is great if you're wanting to carry canoes or kayaks on large SUVs or trucks. The first thing we're going to do is unstrap our kayak and take it off, then we'll show you some features of the DryDock. Great thing about this DryDock is that it does adjust back here. Today on our 2011 GMC Acadia, we are going to be doing a test fit of the SportRack Vista Cargo Carrier. This cargo carrier is going to measure twenty inches wide by sixty inches long, have a two inch shank for your two inch hitches only, and its going to attach to our receiver using a three quarter inch anti-rattle bolt. Also it will have this nice expanded metal base for easy clean-ability and sturdy steel construction offering a five hundred pound weight capacity with this nice folding shank that will fold up and tuck away when you don't have it in use. Let's go ahead and get some measurements to start off. Our closest distance will be our first measurement and that's gonna be from that bracket there on the front side of the rack to the back side of the bumper. At about eight and seven eighths inches. Overall, this distance that we've added to the vehicle from the rear of the bumper to the back of the rack at about thirty seven and three quarter inches with a rear ground clearance of about twenty one and a half inches. more

Today on our 2011 GMC Acadia we're going to be doing a test fit of the Let's Go Aero Gear Cage. This Gear Cage is going to measure 32" wide by 48" long and it's going to have a sturdy 2" shank to automatically to our 2" receiver, as well as with its sturdy steel construction it's going to offer a 300 pound weight capacity. Now it will attach as well with a 7/8" anti-rattle bolt that will secure our load and make sure that there's little sway, rattle, and wobble. We'll show you that in a moment. Let's go ahead and start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance will be our first measurement from the backside of the bumper to the front side of the rack at about 5-1/2". Overall distance that we've added to the vehicle from the rear of the bumper to the back of the rack is going to be about 39-5/8", and our ground clearance from the bottom side of the shank is going to be about 15-3/4". more

Now its dimensions are 23 by 56 and has a max capacity of 450 pounds and it's for 2 inch hitches only. We can go ahead and start by loading our shank into our receiver until our pin holes line up. All right, once we get those lined up we'll go ahead and take our anti-rattle bolt, go ahead and start threading that through. Once we get that hand tight, we can go ahead and take our socket wrench and go ahead and tighten that the rest of the way down. By doing so, it's going to help reduce the wobble and the play within our hitch and our cargo carrier. Once we get that secure we'll go ahead and take a few measurements. Starting with our nearest point, as you can see here, about an inch and a half from here to our bumper. more

Surco Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 GMC Acadia- Video

Today on our 2012 GMC Acadia, well be test fitting the Surco 24X60 Cargo Carrier, part number 52018. To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch tube, align our pin hole, slide our pin through our pin hole and secure with the clip. Now lets go over some clearance measurements to see how the carrier and this vehicle fit together. There are about 17 inches of ground clearance from the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle is about a half an inch. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicles exhaust tip is about five and a half inches. more
